It has been a while

I seem to move in spurts and pauses on this my blog. Maybe when I am most frustrated (in life not sexually) do I feel the need to vent but feel guilty calling friends and just dumping on them for the next two hours, although knowing me maybe closer to three hours. Either way lest you feel that by dropping off this blog it is a bad thing, actually it must indicate that I am fairly content with life recently. That is indeed the case, but still I will let you know about a couple of things going on.

First I have recently moved onto myspace and yes I do feel like one of the last people in the state of CA let alone the world to be on that site. For all of the things people say about it between it is a site for random hookups or other types of abuse, I have reconnected with a number of high school and college friends. It just goes to show how pervasive some of these sites like myspace have become where people on opposite sides of the country coming from different industries and places in life (married with kids all the way to single) are all on this site. I can honestly say it has been a pleasure meeting a couple of my friends, one that conveniently came to CA for a business trip and one that I visited during one of my business trips. Both ended up becoming exceedingly long dinner or simply drinks as we caught up on where we are both in life, the life of our friends and even reminiscing over stories from the good old days. If you ever want something fun to do for an afternoon, jump on the site and look up a high school or college class. You might just be surprised who you will find.

Besides catching up with friends I have actually been doing quite a bit of travel. After South Africa there was a quick trip to Vegas, Rochester, Niagra and now Raleigh, North Carolina. I would have complained about a crazy trip home from Rochester where a pilot decided to oversleep, then once he finally showed up decided his co-pilot had too many flying hours for the month and cancel the flight, only to re-instate it 45 minutes later due to a miss-calculation. I would go into a tirade about that situation and yet maybe there is no need. I have been very lucky in 5 years where my bag was never yet stolen, none of my flights ever canceled (delayed significantly but never canceled), and chalk it up to good luck no plane crashes in recent memory (there are those other incidents from the past we need not bring back to recent memory). So as much as I would like to go on a tirade against the airlines, I am still even with the enhanced security able to leave my house a scant two hours before my flight, park in off campus parking (saving my company just a couple more bucks a day), check my bag at the counter get through security and still have time for a non-fat chai latte at the local coffee shop. Now frankly there is no complaining that needs to happen around that. By the way please do not believe everything you hear or see on tv. All this publicity about incredibly long security lines and crazy security, it has been no more than usual. Just all hype.
